Electrical Preventative Maintenance
2010.04.01 18:17:53

As an electrician that has been doing service work for 12+ years I have noticed a trend in home and commercial electrical problems. 80% of all diagnostics boil down to one thing "Loose Connections". Mostly behind outlets, switches, and in the main panel. With a preventative maintenance home inspection you will cut down or even eliminate further electrical problems. Wires expand and contract with climate change and it is very important to have them looked at and tightened once a year. In the month of April we are running a special for home electrical inspections for only $85. With this inspection we will check all outlets and switches to make sure they are functioning properly, Look for any code violations and fire hazards, and most importantly tighten all connections in your panel box as well as meter box. Contact us to schedule your appointment today. Thanks for reading,

Safety and Efficiency Tips
2010.03.26 14:59:56
One of the newest, and arguably best, requirements in the electrical installation code has to do with water. As you know, water and electricity don't mix too well, so it's in our best interest to keep them apart. To help make certain they don't mix the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) mandates all kitchen outlets be Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI). The NEC also requires all outlets within 6 feet of a tub or basin to be GFCI.

For good measure, The Electric Company of Atlanta recommends GFCI outlets in all kitchen and bathroom electrical installations.
